jewellery stories ... Mr Loi

Amazing shiny jewellery are usually made in small, grungy little rusty spaces. In Via Iglesias 44 in Cagliari Mr Salvator Loi has his little workshop where he has been working for more than 40 years. He is specialised in Sardinian filigree jewellery, a laborious technique based on precision and detail that he keeps on practicing even though he now suffers from parkinson. He is always helpful with us new goldsmiths and he generously gives us advice and tools so we can make our designs. He was repairing a beautiful filigree bad from Liguria. Meet his crazy cosy workshop...
